Hello y’all, my name is Kristie Schuh and Schuh is pronounced like what you were on your foot, shoe.
I grew up in a small town outside of Austin, Texas called Dripping Springs where there is actually a dripping spring for about 3 months out of the year. I am the angsty middle child of three daughters and accountant parents. My sisters and I all teach in the arts through dance, music and theatre. I was a rambunctious child who grew into a talented determined young lady who cares deeply for others.
I am very good at random movie knowledge and Oscar trivia. I’ve had plays produced at fringe festivals in Austin and I’ve written pieces of a one woman show. My goal is to one day put that one woman show up on stage. Some of the topics that I cover in my writtings are very near and dear to my heart and include chronic pain, mental health and suicide prevention. I believe we need more laughter in the world.
I have a strong passion for teaching and encouraging children about theatre and how to use it in their everyday lives. Over the last 7 years, I’ve had the opportunity to travel the world encouraging children to never give up, encourage others, and to do their best. And because of that I’m now a professional yoyo-er.
I also have a knack for helping with speech pieces for high schoolers since I was a UIL State Qualifier for Prose. Outside of theatre, I enjoy cooking and even took a sushi rolling class while I was in Tokyo and observed a cheese making class in Amsterdam. I love to travel and hope to visit every country in the world; I’m at 21 and counting. There is so much to learn from other cultures and countries about each other and ourselves. Other travel goals include swimming with the Great White Sharks off the coast of South Africa, seeing the snow covered glaciers of Antarctica and scuba diving in Bali.
